Island Studio is a contemporary art space in Stone Harbor, New Jersey. We offer paint-your-own pottery sessions, family paint on canvas events, 21+ paint-and-sip canvas classes, adult glass fusion classes, specialty art classes, corporate and private events, bachelorette and birthday parties, and creative experiences.
Island Studio is a fun place where creativity comes alive through pottery painting, art workshops, and paint-and-sip evenings in a relaxed atmosphere.
Reservations Required
At Island Studio, we require reservations to ensure each guest receives our full attention and the best possible creative experience. Our reservation system allows us to:
- Prepare your materials and workspace in advance
- Maintain an optimal guest-to-instructor ratio
- Create a relaxed, uncrowded atmosphere
- Provide personalized guidance throughout your session
- Ensure adequate time and space for your project

How to Book
Visit our reservation system here. Questions? Call us: 609-231-7045. At this time, we do not accept reservations over the phone, but you are welcome to call us with your questions.
Rainy day? We recommend booking a day ahead of time or early in the morning same-day as spots fill up quickly.
Pottery Painting Experience
How It Works
Enjoy painting ceramics with friends and family in a fun, creative environment. Pottery pieces start at $25 each, plus a modest $20 per hour studio fee for your group (not per person) that covers all supplies, instruction, table use, cleanup, glazing, firing, and free shipping. This activity is perfect for almost any age.
Your finished pottery will be shipped in one or two weeks at no extra charge to one address (each additional address would cost $10). Payment is due during your visit, except for Paint and Sip Events which require payment at reservation.
We need a credit card to hold your spot (no charge unless you miss your appointment). Please cancel at least 48 hours before your appointment if needed. If you're more than 15 minutes late without notice, your appointment will be canceled with a modest $20 administrative fee.
We have aprons available to borrow for all activities.

Island Studio’s mission is to help our guests and friends have fun by exploring their creativity. Since 2004, Island Studio has offered ceramics (paint your own pottery) and art classes. We believe that creating art can be a relaxing, mindful experience and a form of self-care for all ages. Meditative art activities can be a great way to maintain overall mental health and wellness. We have explored various art mediums over the years and are excited to offer some reimagined options for our guests.

Great place for kids on a rainy day or just to pass some time. There might be a waiting list so get there early leave your name and the owner will text you when space is available while you shop.
My family had a wonderful time creating their pieces of pottery. My grandchildren are 11 years old, 9 years old and 3 years old. They enjoyed all the choices and had trouble choosing one piece but they did! We had a choice of colors and they loved choosing them. The three year old did a lovely mermaid. We were all pleasant surprised, at how carefully she did her piece and how lovely it came out. All the pieces looked beautiful and we will definitely make this a stop for the next time, we visit.
